Diana Osborne
Founder + Director Stylist

Diana Osborne is a Toronto-based holistic hair expert and Founder of Hair Holistic Studio, offering conscious and clean goods + services.

Since starting her career in 2006, it has spanned two different provinces and included creative and branding photoshoots, work for E! Canada, media presentations, mentoring, education and entrepreneurship.

She is incredibly passionate about education, focussing on clean beauty, lifestyle, sustainability and conscious business.

“I know firsthand how the products we use can impact our lives. I almost had to leave my career because I thought there was no other option. So I’m here to tell you that’s not the case. That you can get the hair you’ve always wanted, without most of the nasty chemicals.

After my health crisis, I decided to take control and start my own company. I only work with brands that I believe in. Companies that understand the need for true, clean beauty. And it’s been the most incredible journey ever since. I get to help people achieve beautiful hair using healthier ingredients, as well as educate them on lifestyle habits to feed their hair. I still battle chemical sensitivity almost every day and am trying to raise awareness about the damage toxins (and fragrance especially) do to us.

I am determined to change the world to make it safer for everyone.”

Selena Hofmann
Level 1 Stylist

Selena is our Level 1 Stylist and has been in the hair industry since 2017. After graduating from the Aveda Institute, she joined Hair Holistic in 2019.

She is excited to empower our self expression through the art of hair! On a journey to understand the connection between the health of our bodies, communities, and the planet.

“From the start of telling folks I wanted to be a hairstylist, a question kept coming: “What will you do about your hands?” I’ve had eczema from a young age. It comes and goes with things like temperature changes, stress levels, and exposure to water and chemicals. It can be painful at times, but it mostly is an embarrassing outward expression of my body’s sensitivities. When I started in the industry in 2017, I struggled to ask to wear gloves while other assistants washed out colour without them. I felt defeated that I was too sensitive for the industry.

In my line of work, I’ve found exposure to fragrances and aerosols leading to dizzy spells and breathing issues. Hair colour has made my skin burn and my eyes water, and I know I’m not the only one. When I really think about it, I’ve put up with so much damage to my health for the sake of beauty. But it doesn’t have to be this way.”

Since beginning work at Hair Holistic, she has noticed a big difference in breathing, eczema and ease working with the products without reaction.

We wish to acknowledge this land on which our hair salon operates. For thousands of years the city known as “Toronto” has been home to human activity. This area we stand on is the traditional land of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to live and work on this land.
